Good grip on the outside
So the grips on the outside that you squeeze are nice and soft and easy to squeeze, but you have to squeeze really hard to keep the inside from slipping on the grip. I think even if your kid understands this, they still won't have the strength to actually push it. Installation isn't that bad, just make sure you line up the clips with the holes. It's a plastic that can easily bend if not held together, making it easy to miss a clip. After installation, it retains its shape and strength.
