I took these headphones instead of the AKG K44 to listen to music through a laptop, so I will compare them with both the in-ear Sennheiser CX 200 and the headphones I had intended to use. The headphones have a simple and appealing appearance that is also quite minimalistic. AKG-shki often look like a monster. The ear pads are somewhat abrasive, but they will break in and become more comfortable over time. The ear canal is completely blocked off, creating an environment that is highly isolated from ambient noise. To the touch, the wire has the consistency of rubber, just like the 200 plugs that I've had for the past few years. The material is long-lasting and has an acceptable level of sonority. Because of the mess I made with the double wire, the signal from the AKG only comes out of the left ear. Sound! And now, all you so-called "music enthusiasts" who are anticipating an onslaught of sound from your monitors, pay close attention. Without an external amplifier, not a single phone is capable of driving the speakers of such headphones in an adequate manner. If the Sennheiser CX 200 from the phone produces a solid, juicy bass, clear highs, and slightly sagging mids (this is a proprietary sound), then the HD 206 simply sings at three times the level of what the CX 200 produces at 60% volume. Altering the equalizer settings on the player and connecting the headphones to a laptop will result in a different picture being displayed. We won't be listening to dry mp3, but we will be listening to flac, because that's what monitor headphones are for. Plugs are already unlistenable, but HD 206 is starting to wake up! A sound that is distinct, the bass can now be heard more clearly, and the music is no longer contained within the head, as it would be with plugs; rather, it surrounds and envelops the listener. What about the AKG system? There are no match for the synheizer when it comes to the depth of the bass! Each and every piece of music and each and every instrument can be heard exceptionally well in both monitors, but the synnheizer also satisfies with its abundance of low frequency content. Going on to a computer that is on its last legs but has a real Sound Blaster Audigy! The HD 206 is already in the hole in this situation. The sound has only improved in terms of its depth, thickness, bassiness, and volume; it has not otherwise changed. But, AKG demonstrated the whole spectrum of sounds! You can even pick out what the performer in front of the microphone is wearing, whether it be pants or tights. Yet, the Sinheiser has a superior bass quality overall. At this point, we assemble our thoughts into a pile. Sennheiser CX 200 for phone AKG K44 for your computer Sennheiser HD 206 for your laptop It is important to drive the headphones for at least a week in order to "warm up" the headphones, which will hopefully result in an improvement in sound quality.
