Usually works great, sometimes it's "addictive" and reads very badly, but it says "F". Cats love the laser of course! I use it to make sure horse and barn cat hot water tanks are working, to check for cold and warm spots in my home, and to know what an electric stove considers a 'hot surface' (over 140 F). many such things.
