Unusable from first use. Should have returned it then. Used again after a few months with new batteries and it stopped working.

If you need a "fine point" reading like a small thermistor etc. The laser point is so far away, this is not the right tool for you! I didn't find any way to calibrate or "shoot". I used an ice cube as a test.

I didn't want to carry my big Fluke gauge to remote job sites so I got this mini gauge and it's great. Accurate, easy to use, fits in your pocket. Dropped from about 3' a few times - still works. For the price you can't beat it.

Good product but must have been a display model. When it arrived no manual (I downloaded it) and dead batteries which I replaced. Aside from a few minor annoyances, I'm very happy with it. This is a good compact item and the price was great. Many thanks for the fast delivery.

The temperature setting seems accurate enough for the layman. However, this device is powered by lithium batteries in standby mode. With new Energizer batteries (tested with a battery tester) for about 5 measurements (less than a minute) and after about 4 days the batteries were dead. Repeat with fresh batteries. same result. Just a note.

Usually works great, sometimes it's "addictive" and reads very badly, but it says "F". Cats love the laser of course! I use it to make sure horse and barn cat hot water tanks are working, to check for cold and warm spots in my home, and to know what an electric stove considers a 'hot surface' (over 140 F). many such things.

I tested it with my old lab mercury thermometer (in fractions), it's close enough. My problem is that the device won't turn on when it gets really cold! Cold Los Angeles, not Maine or Wisconsin. Left in car overnight (clean, dry etc.) if temperature is below 50F? 40F? it just won't work. Changed batteries and such. When I'm dead I leave it in my pocket for 20 minutes and then it works, even measuring "cold". So this is a quality issue of the product or the toilet, not a design or sensor defect.
