Nice piece of junk

First of all, from an aesthetic point of view this is a great player. The smooth grain of the wood looks great on the shelf. I've received many compliments on my looks. But that's all I can say about this player. The sound quality is just terrible. The music sounds like it's coming out of a tin can. The built-in speakers are on either side of the player, not the front (or even better, the front *and* sides). Listen to that and then listen to any player that costs $200 more and you'll never want to listen to music on that player ever again. There are also no volume controls other than volume. There's no way to adjust bass or treble (which requires *a lot* more bass). Perhaps most annoyingly, the arrow slips off at times. After several jumps at once on a brand new record, I decided to try it on my more expensive turntable to see if the record was damaged. nope There are no problems with the other player. There is no cover on the player either, dust collects on the playing surface. Another disadvantage. I was attracted to this player because of the AM/FM radio function. I like listening to NPR, sports radio, random ball games, etc. But it's very difficult to tune in to the right station here. If a station doesn't have the strongest signal of all, you may never find it on this player. Maybe it's a decent option as a travel player since it's very small and light. I'm pretty sure I'll only use it for travel from now on and stick with the 1ByOne player I bought for $290.
