Review on Matte Medium American Hair for Men by Jillian Bishop

Revainrating 5 out of 5

High hold and low shine as described

I have fairly thick hair and I usually wear it short, with just over an inch at the crown and 1.5 inch bangs that I usually style top style page. Because of the kind of bangs I have (thanks to genetics and cow licking), I need something to keep my hair strong. I used to use a defining paste but after switching to a matte shade I don't think I'll be going back. This material sticks well to your hair for just a pea-sized amount, has no bad smell, and rubs without leaving clumps. The defining paste always left strands of white in my hair to comb through, but the matte shade was much easier to spread. But for formal occasions, you can put a lot there and smear aside, and there will be practically no shine. It got to the point where my friends thought I cut my hair one day when I wasn't wearing it because they didn't even realize I was using the product. If you are looking for a low hold product I suggest you look elsewhere. My only concern is that you NEED the shampoo (or American Crew's cleanser, which I don't have) to get it completely out of your hair - just water doesn't help as the hold is so strong. I solved this problem by showering at night, but if you sleep with it expect it to rub off on your pillowcase. I'd say it's worth it for the price as I got it in September and I've only used about half so far after applying it 5 times a week.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled
