Review on Lisle 12390 Dual Drive Oxygen Sensor Wrench: A Versatile Tool for Efficient Sensor Maintenance by Terry Brendemuehl

Great O2 sensor connector option

I like this connector for its flexibility. Not only can you use a 3/8 and 1/2 drive, you can use only end versus top/bottom. This can be very helpful. The ratchet or breaker has a hole for the detent ball, which I think works a lot better than the grooves inside. This ensures a secure hold on the base. The construction feels solid and Lisle is a reasonable company, although the guarantee can be a bit difficult for users who do it themselves. One thing I don't like is the hex configuration. The flat side of the hex faces the drive end and in another design the tip faces the drive end. This socket provides full contact on 5 of the 6 sides and small contact on each side of the 6th side. Another style offers full contact on 4 of the 6 sides and half contact on the other two. This design doesn't seem to offer the same grip on the sensor, but I have to say that both designs are nice to have as they offer the flexibility that is important for O2 sensors. This nest is expensive compared to others. But in this case, if you want unique features, that's the price you pay. In my experience, the need for an O2 vent often cannot be met with a single vent design. You will need normal and long range, shallow and deep etc. This socket will be a good addition to the flexibility of your O2 sockets.
