If you have done enough scientific research (not just on websites) you will find that there is little to no evidence that aluminum is harmful as an antiperspirant. I tried switching to just deodorant but I still stunk no matter what I tried or how many times I used it. So if you're not afraid of aluminum but don't want parabens and phthalates (there's pretty good evidence they're bad), then this antiperspirant is for you. And of course there are other good reasons to buy from Tom's such as the eco friendly packaging etc. I love the scent of the powder but I've tried the unscented one too and it works for both men and women.
