Good: Mine is pretty close to the correct 90 degrees (I think it's about 1 degree but the shape makes it difficult to be exact), and although it is is not very smooth , it moves quite well . Bad: If the tilt screw is loose, it wobbles a bit. Not much, but more than necessary. Also, the base doesn't appear to have been designed with set screws to attach the tripod head (or gimbal in this case) to the tripod. The indentations in the base reduce the weight somewhat, but prevent the set screws from touching the base. The first photo shows the screws on the leveling adapter for my tripod and the mark where the gimbal eventually detaches and meets the set screw. In comparison, my Manfrotto heads have a base with slight bevels that allow the set screws to hold them in place (second photo). And finally, the plate that comes with it is not included in any of the Arca-Swiss clamps I have. Lack of Space: The spot where the center screw of the base is covered with a label would be the perfect spot for a small bubble level. The gimbal can be used as a panoramic head as it allows rotation around the lens's exit pupil, so adding a bubble level would be a nice touch.
