I bought these in the medium and large sizes for my 22 lb Jack Russell because I didn't know which size would fit best. This is a medium build, leggy Jack Russell. Her waist is 18 inches where the diapers close. Medium size is the best for her. I bought these for my dog to wear mainly at night as she only gets incontinence while she sleeps. Leg holes are too big and gape. Urine leaked through the leg holes and I woke up asleep in the urine! I had to sew holes in the legs to keep them from falling apart. Then I ordered a medium size. At first I thought they were too small. But I managed to get enough velcro on both sides to fit. The leg holes gaped a lot less than the plus size. They still gaped a little. I haven't had any problems with urine leakage. However, both pairs easily slipped right off her ass! They sagged constantly and their docked tail kept coming out of the tail opening and the tail opening was where urine could possibly leak. Even though I bought them for the night, I kept waking up all night to make sure they didn't fall off! Real pain and many lost nights of sleep! Grrr! My girl has short straight hair and no real waist so I'm sure that played a part. I didn't want to over tighten them either as another pair I bought from a local pet store rubbed the wound on her stomach. So here is my solution and it worked great! Much better than these diapers if you have a dog like mine with a short straight coat and no waist. Rompers. I ended up buying her a pack of 24 month old Target overalls. Just One You brand. I mention this because I bought the Carter brand from Walmart even after 18 months and they were way too short! I then compared the Carter brand and the Just One You brand and the same Carter size was 2-3 inches shorter. So if you have a dog my girl's size, buy 4 packs of Just One You at Target for $8.99. There are dependencies for women. I have those that hold a level 5 flow. I cut one in half and glued it where the pee came out in the overalls. It worked great and was the perfect size to hold a fairly large puddle. I halved it because it fit better and was enough to hold urine volume after a round of urination. These pads absorb all moisture so you don't have to bathe your dog's butt every morning. Even if these diapers worked for my girl and didn't slide off her buttocks, I would suggest getting a Depends pad for women. cut it in half and put it in the diaper. better because the absorbent layer in these diapers is not as absorbent as these pads. g is my size or smaller so your dog's jumpsuit has no waist. If your dog has a waist, I would suggest trying these diapers with a liner. Simply cut out the tail hole with scissors. I wasn't worried because my girl isn't in the habit of raising her tail at night anyway. And that's the only time I use them. There is a choice on my little girl wearing a 24 month old baby bodysuit. I gave them three stars because I'm sure they will work great for some dogs, especially with the inner lining. But for my girl, a fifty dollar jumpsuit was perfect!
