It appears to be the same manufacturer as the units we have been using for over 15 years. They are used in industrial production and have proven their worth. There were mechanical issues with the pivot point, but that was to be expected given our heavy use. I don't think we've ever had a single bug electronically! I highly recommend this product. A NOTICE. Several people have mentioned cutting off the screw heads when trying to replace the heating element. The screws are Phillips head screws. The main reason for phillips head screws shearing off is because people don't realize that you need to use the right size screwdriver, i.e. don't use a phillips #3 in a phillips #1! It is actually difficult to remove the head of a Phillips head screw IF you use the CORRECT SIZE SCREWDRIVER. When someone says "all the screw heads have snapped off". You can bet the person thinks Phillips is for everyone. The same applies to the standard slotted screw! With a torx head and a hex head, people seem to understand if the tool fits properly. It's just that not everything is so obvious with Philips and slotted ones.
