This spring I had to take over the cooking from my wife. I soon got tired of cutting with all my might with blunt knives. I found a pair of Pamperd Chef knives in a closet housed in cases that doubled as sharpeners. What difference does it make what a sharp knife is. They are easier and safer to use. I'm looking for Revain for an easy to use sharpener. I found Priority Chef Premium. It's so easy to use once you use it a few times. The handle gives you a great way to steady it by running knives through it. I use it on a countertop with a rubber pad underneath to prevent slipping and protect the countertop. Initially, all of my knives required eight strikes on all three stones. After resetting the edge, I usually just use a fine stone and a ceramic whetstone to keep a good edge. Bonus, it comes with a washable cut-resistant glove.
