I bought this camera to replace my Nikon d80. This is a solid digital SLR camera. The whole frame is metal and solid, I'm sure it can take a few falls although I never tested it. It is also sealed for weather protection. Another feature that I haven't tested but I've used it in sandy and foggy environments like the beach with small issues. It can take pictures very quickly if the speed of your memory card allows it. I've been told that if you add a battery to this camera, it will capture one frame per second faster. Although this camera is dated and the picture quality may not be as perfect as we would like, the camera itself is very functional and can be a great long term spare. Keep in mind that a camera adds a little extra weight and space to your bag.
