I have a Dell Vostro 3460 with an Msata slot. So I installed 128GB in msata slot and booted into bios. The BIOS recognized the drive. I went into windows and it didn't show up in either file manager or disk manager. I scratched my head a bit and then tried DISKPART. it was there I erase the msata drive and format the msata drive. Rebooted back to Windows. Still no joy. If we return to DISKPART. This time I enabled AUTOMOUNT for the msata drive. Switched off. I disabled the HHD and booted from the Windows 21H1 installation USB, built the system and booted into a new image on the msata disk. Everything was great. I reinstalled and reformatted HHD. The msata drive is now the boot drive and the hard drive is for data. Even without a built-in hard drive, Windows indicated a battery life of almost 4 hours.
