I have been working as a software developer for over 5 years and have really enjoyed working on my CM Storm Quikfire TK. It lasted several years and I had to replace the cable once. Getting it to work with Mac was also a problem. He finally died (RIP) last week and the search for a good replacement began. Mechanical keyboards can be very expensive, and while I use them for my work, I just can't bring myself to spend $150. But when you spend less, the quality really seems to suffer. Out of curiosity, I searched for "mechanical keyboards" in Slack in my work, and one of the lead developers said he uses the Keychron K4 as his "master". Apparently he had quite a collection! So I started researching Keychron to see what they have and it seemed too good to be true. A $100 mechanical keyboard with an aluminum frame, LEDs, hot-swappable keys, wired/Bluetooth, and extra keys to switch from Mac to Windows? I was a bit dubious that the switches aren't Cherry MX, I've never heard of a Gateron. but I'm not an expert on mechanical keyboards either. But man, this thing feels so good to tap on. First off, the blue switches have a nice click/click (for me) and tactile feedback, the LED options are amazing (and really fun for my kids), they're a good weight, and very well designed. The keys also feel like they're a bit rubberized, they stick to them really well. I can't comment on durability as this is the first time I've used this item. But the first impression is very high. Should there be any issues in the future I will update my review but I don't really expect to. It's just such a solid build and no lag issues. I will definitely recommend it to my friends/colleagues. Keychron, I don't know how you can make such an amazing product at such a low price compared to your competitors, but you have a loyal customer!
