Primary colors are wrong or not true when custom colors are mixed. I tried Magenta, the best I could get was Mauve. Red when mixed with white gives a rusty pink color rather than pink. For me that is a problem. When you apply it to the canvas it seems to dry quickly, in fact it is not dry but less fluid and difficult to move because it is absorbed by the canvas. So either the canvas has to be primed further or a solvent such as turpentine is used, which as advertised is not suitable for children. It may be better if you apply with a spatula as it will retain its thickness while adding texture. It doesn't stain your skin like regular oils, which can be a plus.
