Mediocre build quality with otherwise good case design

Other reviewers have noted positive aspects of this case and I agree. It's spacious and well-designed with the Mini-ITX form factor in mind. I like that the Node 304 doesn't have the sound deadening material used in the Fractal Define series. Airflow inside the case is good when you turn on all the case fans, and it's still quiet. Customer support with Fractal has been excellent. Now for the bad: One of the thumbscrew holes on the case was misaligned so it couldn't be removed without tools and couldn't be reinserted by hand. See photo. This is when I push the case with all my might to line up the hole, but it doesn't happen. When I first pressed the power button, it popped and broke, as noted by another reviewer. I contacted Fractal through their website and they sent me a replacement power switch for free. Cables with a semi-modular ATX power supply are a mess. I went for a full ATX myself, but as you can see from the photos, the Node 304 doesn't leave much room for cables despite the excellent case design. There is practically no space for 3.5" drives, use a 2.5" hard drive. - The airflow from the power supply exits the case at the bottom, not at the sides. If you place this directly on the floor or table you only have a few millimeters of ventilation room I consider this a 5 star case if the above weren't a problem With these issues and the relatively high price 3 stars My Build: Fractal Design Node 304 Black Mini-ITX Case Asrock J5005-ITX Mainboard with Pentium Silver Series Seasonic FOCUS SSR- 550FM 550W Power Supply2x 4GB RAM2 HDD
