Serves its purpose although I haven't used it for a long time. I've outgrown the smaller first aid kit. This one is perfect so far. I have five layers of foam: - a thin piece at the bottom, glued in place - two thicker pieces that take up most of the remaining height. They are cut out in a grid pattern so you can pull out the sections if you need to pack gear like a camera or surveying gear into the foam. - thin detachable element on the top, not cut - thin eggshell pattern glued to the inside of the lid. Much cheaper than the big brands and not being a tornado hunter I think this box will serve well for many decades to come.
