Bought for my mum when she severely injured one of her big toes. GREAT protection! Every time she bumps into something, she bumps into a shoe, NOT a toe; So your toe is slowly but surely healing because it's not injured! A word of caution: it is easy to trip if you are not careful. The elongated "buffer" that protects the toe box can also cause a person to trip easily if the person does not lift their foot in time. My mother stumbled several times; However, as she learned to walk with an extended "cushion" protecting her toe, she rarely stumbled. for them OR if you do, practice raising their leg with them so they don't trip. That caveat aside, this is a GREAT shoe (it's well made) for anyone to wear while their toes or feet heal from injury or surgery. Highly recommended!
