Review on Brandmotion 5000 CLED Alert Optional Indicator by Walter Day

Dual f/u view: additional LED not compatible with its (obvious) main unit (5000-CAS Pro) which I checked before, a fact not mentioned in the listing. It has been returned. The curb warning system was never installed as required, but worked perfectly for 6 weeks. Now it screams continuously without limits and cannot be programmed. Curb Motion Technical Support believes the software module is defective and I am attempting to replace it. At least the packaging, installation and reliability are suspect. I researched and bought this device to avoid curbs and stop breaking with my Audi S5. There appear to be three types of curb guards: those with bumper-length sensor tape fitted inside the bumper; with several small sensors installed through 3-4 holes in the bumper; and this one, the only sensor installed at the very bottom of the grille. (Audi's grille is low and comfortably shaped.) The warning speaker mounts discreetly under the dash and is loud enough. It will beep three single beeps (not a progressive beep as described) when a curb/stop is detected. The height and proximity of the warning curb can be adjusted to a certain extent. I ordered the installation from the Auto Stereo Shop, who did a great job. Pending a successful solution to my problem, I would probably buy again and use the "Pro" but reconsider the "tape" system for the bumper.
