The real Shimanos are hard to beat and to be honest I'm not sure if the different design of the combs on these combs than the stock Shinanos will help me, faster to stop . But there seems to be an increase in performance in the wet and they certainly work just as well as Shimano but are cheaper but seem to have great performance and durability. I've worn them for a season with no noticeable wear compared to what's normal for Shimanos, for example. Of course they are installed like all other brake pads and have no oddities or anything special needed to align them properly. They have a slight taper which seems like a great design for more stopping power. Are they better than Shimano? Probably, at least under certain conditions, as indicated above.
