Review on Water cooling system for ID-COOLING FROSTFLOW X 120 processor, black by Janis Cerins ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A really necessary purchase, I'm glad I found this product.

I needed a low profile cooler for the ELITE-120 case. A search on the market showed that this model is cheaper than air with heat pipes (for example, noctua NH-L9a-AM4 - 5 + tr). The case had to be modernized - the disk basket was removed to accommodate the radiator, fortunately - there is an external 5"25 bay, in which it is planned to put a 4x2"5 basket. In the photo - what happened. I added a fan from the inside of the radiator, the PSU is turned with the fan down to draw air out. It remains to somehow remake the front panel, because when the panel is dressed, the temperature of all components increases by ~5 degrees. The speed of the fans is driven by the mother, without a load they are not audible. In games - the video card overlaps. The pump is not audible, there is a slight vibration, it is felt if you put your hand on the case, but the vibration is clearly the total of 5 fans (2 on the radiator, 2 on the video card, 1 in the PSU) and the pump. In this case, it turned out not the most profitable from the point of view. heat transfer is an option when the radiator is placed at the outlet of the air flow from the case, but here the case is arranged in such a way that it cannot be done otherwise. However, the design proved to be more efficient and cheaper than air and heat pipes.

Pros
  • Complete set, ease of attachment to the processor, heat sink quality.
Cons
  • In fact, a trifle - the pump, unfortunately, is non-PWM, the mother used does not know how to control different types of devices, therefore the pump is always at 2022 rpm.
