(You can see in the photos how big it is compared to the 1 gallon vinegar container and the large glass vase of flowers. I also put a napkin on it to show it's very good , when the handle bottom is flat.) We buy and use a lot of sugar. I usually buy in 10 pound bags. Then he sits curled up in the closet, open to the humidity of the air or all sorts of vermin (fu). When you take it out and unwrap it, the sugar is everywhere. I have made! SIZE - It fits a lot. It was 1/4 full, I threw in a 10 lb bag of granulated sugar and still had enough room to throw in a 1 cup measuring cup and get some extra room! I would suggest he comfortably holds 15 pounds. Ideal. So when I start descending, I buy a 10 pound bag and dump it into the rest of the container. SEAL - It has a rubber seal and four locking tabs. I've been using these types of containers for years and love them. They protect against bugs, air/moisture and keep my stuff fresh for years. They are easy to put on and take off and I don't even want to try another type. I was thinking of a large screw cap jar and I'm really glad I didn't! Click, click, click with one hand and it opens quickly and easily! DURABILITY - I was really concerned about how much weight I would put in this container and then lift it by the handle. The container itself seems a bit more fragile. than my other containers. However, the handle feels solid and is made of thicker plastic (along with the lid). So after a few test runs I'm sure it will hold up. * I will update if I have any problems in the future. COST - $17 per container! I know. I had a hard time justifying that. Here's how I see it: * This is an investment for 10 years or more. Keep the bugs out of my pantry as there is no food to even attract them. I cook. *So I can clearly see how much sugar I have (so I know when to stock up) and what its state is (ie no bugs - I'm worried lol). * It makes my pantry cleaner and more organized - it looks really great! I've slowly but surely (over the years) converted most of my pantries to these clear lidded containers. I've had some for 15 years. I plan to buy another one for my all purpose flour. I highly recommend this item!
