. They are made of what appears to be high-quality firefighting foam. I've installed them on both switches and outlets. I've used four of these in a four gang outlet and they work well in this configuration. The edges of the foam overlapped when installing multiple bands, but the bezel still went. Like other reviewers, they work best if you insert them into the bezel with all the cutouts and then screw the plate on. Only the snippets required for your configuration will pop out. I also tried burning one of the cutouts to test for flammability and they will burn, but they appear to be flame retardant to some degree as they don't seem to continue to burn once the fire source is removed.
