Review on Monoprice 102689 Female Adapter Plated by Kris Wagner

This is a great little adapter that has made my old Infocus 4805 projector usable again. I used to put my very old projector aside as I had no other way to send content to it other than plugging in an old laptop with a VGA port that worked with the previous cable that came with the projector. I was trying to figure out how to connect an HDMI input and came across this adapter. The adapter is perfect for connecting my projector. The only issue I had with the connector that I hadn't thought of before purchasing was the audio stream. At least with my beamer, this adapter did not allow any sound transmission. I connected a Chromecast to it and was able to receive video but basically no sound and no way to get sound from that device or any other type of device that has audio going through HDMI. My workaround was to connect my tablet to the projector using this adapter and my tablet's micro HDMI adapter and either use a bluetooth audio connection or connect the speaker directly to the tablet. With these methods, the projector now works great with the adapter. For my setup, the video signal through the adapter is very good and is only limited by the capabilities of the projector.
