It would be nice to have a braid so that it is less stressed

You will not be wrong. Purchased for InFocus LP640 Projector. I connected HDMI to it and it recognized the video immediately. No sound came through or to the speakers, but I expected that. My only complaint is the HDMI dangling from the back. Everything seems solid enough, but I'm concerned that the connector or the end of the HDMI cable could be damaged upon impact. A braid would have been nice with less stress, but I also knew what I was getting. Just be careful around him!

Pros
  • A wide range
Cons
  • I will not say anything

Full resolution output from stick to old projector

I have an old projector connected via the old DVI format. The adapter supports high quality HDMI input resolution and I get crystal clear images on my projector. I use this to connect a Revain Fire Stick directly. I tried various other inputs and adapters but the resolution got worse, especially when using a composite input cable. I've just started using it so I don't know how reliable it is, but I've used another very similar DVI to M1 adapter for years with no problems.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Some difficulties

Great item that comes in handy when you need it.

Works great on my projector. I connected this to my HDMI cable that comes with my laptop. The M1-D end plugs into my projector and I can shoot movies outside on a warm summer evening. The neighbors come every Friday and we watch movies outside. It's all possible because of this one little thing. Works perfect. If you have a projector that uses an M1-D connector, I suggest picking it up and keeping "just in case". I'm glad I have it now and my only regret is that I didn't think of buying it…

Pros
  • Always liked
Cons
  • Can't remember

It was a rarity because I didn't think I would find such an adapter. I just bought an old Hitachi projector and didn't know there was another type of digital connection. I had never heard of the M1-D, but I had no desire to use a crappy 35ft analog VGA cable, and I certainly had no intention of using a full set of RGBHV cables ($$$). , so I ended up running an HDMI cable from my computer through a DVI to HDMI adapter to an HDMI cable to this thing, HDMI-M1-D, it works like a charm. Fully…

Required for some projectors

To the constant disappointment of consumers, electronics manufacturers cannot standardize their component connection standards. This is an example. Certain generations of Dell and InFocus video projectors use a modified DVI connector called "M1" that is not interchangeable with standard DVI cables. Apparently the reason for the change was the addition of a USB connection through the same connector. But for those like me who just need to connect their Blu-ray player (with HDMI output) to their…

Works great, BUT you have to know.

Well made, works great with my Epson (InFocus) X2 projector. But you need to understand a few things before using any of them. First, none of the ports support HDCP; is the connection between connected devices. Most projectors old enough to require this port are also too old to work with HDCP. Second, no port supports resolutions that devices cannot support; again between connected devices. My X2 supports 1080i but not 1080p. Interestingly, when I plug in my BD player (Samsung BD-F5700) and set

New Life for an Old Infocus 4805 Projector

This is a great little adapter that has made my old Infocus 4805 projector usable again. I used to put my very old projector aside as I had no other way to send content to it other than plugging in an old laptop with a VGA port that worked with the previous cable that came with the projector. I was trying to figure out how to connect an HDMI input and came across this adapter. The adapter is perfect for connecting my projector. The only issue I had with the connector that I hadn't thought of…
