The new design is useless. The old design worked great. The photos showing the silver screws on the hinges are the OLD design. I bought one of these for an iPad many years ago and it works great. Eventually the nut fell off and I smeared it with blue Loctite and I had no more problems. However, they changed the design by removing the screws in the hinge areas and this new design is NOT strong enough to support the weight. iPad in a protective case. I drilled through the pieces and added my own #6 screws, which allowed me to tighten the hinges just enough to support the weight of the iPad without falling off. This required a lot of effort and skill. Old design = 5 stars. New design = nothing.
