My humidifier stopped humidifying and I called my installer for a diagnosis. He confirmed that I needed a new solenoid and that the installation would cost $200 in addition to the $50 for the tech visit. That's the cost of a new humidifier! Bought this new solenoid and installed it in 10 minutes. Very simple, and I'm not a practical type. Unscrew the old one, remove the water fittings and nuts, then install the new one. Always ensure the water supply line to the humidifier is disconnected and all power is turned off. Anyway, run it and I still had the same problem! After some fiddling, I decided to remove the hole that connects to the flexible water hose that drips into the filter. Plugged it in and voila, it worked. I know I needed the hole to reduce water flow to make it work properly, so I checked the hole and held it up to the light. I saw that the tiny hole was plugged with a small amount of calcium. I used the needle, stuck it out and ran under warm water. I reinstalled the injector and the problem was gone. For those who said they received a faulty solenoid, be sure to check the hole. I use a new solenoid and keep my old one if it ever fails.
