My sink was clogged for about a week and the draino solution never worked and I've also heard that these chemicals ruin the pipes so I have a short flexible line used that has worked in the past and was able to pull out clogged hairs which would solve half the problem. I think I pushed some of the clogged hair deeper into the tube because it still wasn't draining effectively. Order this whistle snake and read the instructions on the back of the box. Loosen the screw to pull the strong wire rod into the tube until it stops. Add a few inches of travel and tighten the bolt. Gently start turning the knob clockwise and pushing down gently and it went through the twist of the deeper tube and the tip should capture the remnants of the clogged hair. Start turning the knob counterclockwise. and slowly pulled up at the same time, and voila lifted the clogged gunk. Now the sink drains easily. Very happy with the purchase. Very easy to use. No chemicals need to be used, so it is eco-friendly. In the end, I recommend pouring a few liters of boiling water into the kettle to rinse the whistle. Also, use a dry rag and wipe down the serpentine that came out of the pipe to keep it from rusting in storage. This is the only concern. It is not stainless steel, so it can rust if not dried during storage. Will update if this happens if I need to use it in the future.
