Review on ๐ŸŒˆ Puppy Bumpers: Rainbow Paw Safety Fence Barrier (up to 10 inches) by Jennifer Brown

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Pleasantly surprised

Bought 3 months ago for our 6lb Maltipoo, Rebel. We live on a golf course and she loves chasing golfers. Before I spent a few hundred dollars on an ugly plastic screen at the base of our wrought iron fence, I tried this. At first she was annoyed and tried to take it off. We didn't put a collar on him. At her size, she just isn't strong enough to remove it. But after a few days she got used to it, as she played with her older sister (a 45-pound mixed breed Shepard mix) the pillow started falling off. I finally witnessed it. The big dog grabbed her pillow to play with her. The older sister pulled it off his head. So we just started using a collar on him and that's no longer a problem. We don't thread the collar through all the loops, only 1 works for us. Last Monday really motivated me to write this review. I was away doing other things and noticed that Rebel was dying to come to the golf course. The tournament went on and there was more activity than usual. She was literally trying to get out of every space between every wrought iron "picket" and all over 100 feet of the fence. She tried everything in her small body. She turned sideways, turned upside down, walked backwards. All I knew was that I would witness their success. It wasn't interesting. Don't start feeling sorry for her now. She knows she can't go on the other side of the fence. She is spoiled and wanders around a lot with an escort. With a cove across the field, close to cars, golfers. It's not safe for them there. Somehow, to my pleasant surprise, she never climbed over the fence that day, or any other day so far. I've read other reviews of dogs doing this. Maybe they're smarter, stronger, the gaps in the fence are wider, whatever. But for us and Rebel we are 100% satisfied. well my family Rebel would probably only give one star as it can no longer "terrorize" golfers. Durability - We didn't have any locking issues like others. I figured she would break or break it while running through the bushes and play with her older sister, or the older sister would tear it up while playing with her, but so far so good. I washed it once in cold water. Air dried and it looks the same. Ps: You will notice from the photos that it is in her mouth. I don't know why, but lately she's started holding it in her mouth when she puts it on. We believe it has become a kind of protective blanket or toy. It doesn't seem to bother her. She plays, minds her own business, chases the neighbors' dogs up and down the fence, all with the comfort of her mouth. Hey whatever makes her happy as long as she stays in the yard. Update 08/15/2017: We still have the same pad and it still works great. He is in great shape and survives after being bitten by his older sister. The only change is that Rebel can now remove it himself when we're not using it with a collar (she just sticks her head out while holding it with her paws). Most of the time we're too lazy to pull her collar through and just put a pillow over our heads. I'm looking for a small collar clasp to store in it to make it more convenient. But she never came out while wearing it. Nevertheless 5 stars! The last photo is how it looks now after a few washes and lots of dog drool.
