I never understand why some manufacturers make an amazing product and then decide they need to 'fix' something that isn't broke. And it never happens that they mess things up in the process. (Perhaps the problem is that "broken" is their ROI.) I've been using this product for maybe 15 years with great success. When I ran out of my last pitcher I came here to Revain to buy another and saw the bad reviews about the scent. Having always found the smell very pleasant, I wasn't sure why people leave these reviews; I thought maybe they just didn't like it. Then I saw that the "old formula" was sold. When I decided they had made changes, I decided to play it safe and go with the 'old'. I didn't get the old formula. (The seller was Washington Blvd Sales.) Instead, I got what I'm sure must be a new formula, which is terrible. It has a headache inducing smell reminiscent of the lice shampoo I remember using. Not only does it not stop my cats from urinating in the same spot, it also doesn't seem to get rid of the smell of urine. I made the mistake of not testing it on the surface before using it. In my defence, I bought the "old formula" and assumed it was the same product I've been buying for years. Well I sprayed it on my couch and now it smells like piss and those horrible perfumes. Thanks Spectrum Brands. Your "new formula" wasted my money and possibly ruined my couch. :(
