URO Parts 7L0 820 021Q Heater Fan Motor Fan motor made by URO Parts/APA Industries in Simi Valley, CA, perfect for my 2006 Volkswagen Touareg. The delivery was also MUCH faster than promised. The part appears to be identical to the OEM part I just removed. It's possible that my original 10 year old fan's performance has degraded over time, which is why I didn't notice it. The new fan is a major improvement. Works better than new in my opinion. I don't remember my Touareg AC working that well. It took about 90 minutes to remove my old fan and install this one. The move went quickly. Aligning the new part in the alignment grooves required more skill from the bot. I was wondering what happened on my first attempt at installation and one of the top two screw holes was misaligned. I thought, well, "spare part". But the fault was mine. I pulled the motor out and paid more attention to the alignment of the grooves. FITS PERFECTLY! I strongly recommend that you place a large fridge near the Touareg's open passenger door. Lie on it to support your back. MUCH makes the job easier. The fan performance is very strong and just as quiet if not even quieter than my old fan. The part from URO was VERY WELL packaged with high quality foam inserts to protect the part during shipping. I was very impressed and would buy more URO parts. This saved a lot of money over the unit offered by the dealer. I also ordered and installed a new $18 Mann cabin air filter at this time and also found a Revain replacement. It is very identical to the Porsche filter that was in the car. and it was original until 2006 too. Man! Was it clogged with dirt and dust? Really fat. I bet I lost at least 10-20% cooling efficiency and air movement. But then again, until my old fan stopped blowing and started humming like a sad oboe, I didn't even know my car had a cabin air filter. It is impregnated with activated carbon to absorb chemical pollutants. Well worth your money. Thank you URO. I'm totally impressed.
