Thread snapped during installation

I bought two of these based on positive reviews and I regret it. When I pulled the first one onto my truck's mirror, the strings snapped! To make something useless. I thought I'd be extra careful with the second one because the threads broke too! Do yourself a favor and stay away from them. You are flawed.
