The interface is very intuitive, even to someone who has never used an R or Python environment before. The syntax of commands are easy enough that you can figure out how they're supposed to be written in minutes if not hours (if your problem requires it). I like having all my code available at once so i don't have to keep switching between different environments when working through problems. It's also nice being able to run multiple versions simultaneously without needing separate installations. That said, this might just come down to personal preference as there aren't any real downsides that I've encountered yet. If anyone was looking into using either programming language/environment for statistical modeling then I would suggest trying them both first because each one offers something unique which makes choosing easier than other options. We were solving some fairly complicated models where we needed access to many variables but didn't want to spend time writing custom scripts for.
