If you want to use a rechargeable (thin) laser pointer instead of a viewfinder or telerad system, this is the mount for it. However, the sample I received was severely misaligned, requiring an equal but opposite offset of the pointer to match the scope's optics. There was enough space with six set screws to do it, but it looks odd. Note: Cheap green lasers are great for this use, but all I've seen are Class III and therefore require extra care to be used safely. Read about it before you make a purchase decision.
