This little XY-P40 board is extremely easy to use and easy to use. Box of 8 AA batteries (with built in on/off switch, find it on eBay) on the back, wire all the cables, done! (I also removed the capacitive filters in the speakers to have a fuller sound). The connection seems less fast and fast. However, when the board is on and connecting to Bluetooth, it makes these loud, blinking, crackling noises. When you turn on the device, it seems to be set to full volume by default, or maybe the volume of the device it's connected to: either way, this potentially makes the connection loud and frustrating. This needs improvement and that's why I didn't give 5 stars. It connects as XY-P40W. Once connected, the volume knob on the circuit board doesn't matter anymore, so you can forget about it in your design: the volume can be fully controlled by the device via Bluetooth, independent of the knob. This is a huge plus when you need to hide the circuit board in your speakers without access to the control knob: you don't run the risk of accidentally turning off the volume control at a low level. As expected, there is no audio-AUX input here, but pure Bluetooth. The power output is definitely not 40W, but that's to be expected for such a small board. It saturates in and out at 80% volume in my setup. I'd say it's no more than 5-10W (I have a regular 2x30W amp so I can compare) but it's good enough for most small bluetooth speaker applications. Edit: The manufacturer answered me that you need the rated power, you should use a 24V power supply. Also, use lower powered speakers, 8 ohms.
