My grandson's other grandparents are buying him so many things for Christmas that I cringe. What I give him seems so small compared to anything else he could get. He's a nice guy and always says thank you, but I think time is more important than things. He still loves science in general so I bought him this rock hammer and a book on rocks and minerals for his neighborhood. He loved it. Just before Christmas we went rock hunting for a day and he had a great time and we found some cool rocks. In fact, almost every rock was a cool rock, and he wanted to know everything about rocks. He didn't care if it was adobe or granite, and he thought having your own rock hammer was the coolest thing ever. Parents and Grandparents: This is a real earth hammer, not a toy. I brought goggles and we both wore goggles when working with the hammer.
