One of the fasteners around the backrest headrest was not sewn around the latch. I hand sewed because I needed a blanket that day. I hope it lasts. I have a very active 7 month old Rough Collie and she has been absolutely fine. She had a lot of air conditioning because of the mesh in the middle. She didn't slip, but I put two rubber-backed bathmats in for her to lie down/sit on. The lid fits very well. We drive a 2010 Cadillac and it fits perfectly in the back seat. It's not that the latch isn't sewn on, I would give it a higher rating.
