Unused intranet WiFi speeds

We live in a square apartment on the second floor with a garage on the ground floor that we use for sports and crafts, so we got the TP-Link mesh system a few years ago. It worked great, but I was dying to buy something, so I "upgraded" to the Netgear MK63S. Internet traffic was great with no issues, but connection to other Wi-Fi devices on the network (even if they were connected to the same satellite) was almost unusable. Simple SSH connections from a MacBook Pro to a Linux server failed 3/4 times and when they connected it took 30 seconds. I contacted Netgear support and it was beyond useless. Strange troubleshooting steps, same questions over and over again. I decided to see if I could fix the problem myself over the weekend, but I sat down to watch TV on a Friday night and it was just useless. I requested a refund from Revain and got my old TP-Link system back. Now I can enjoy my Linux ISOs while eating ice cream. I haven't had a NetGear since the old WR series routers you could install DD WRT on and I'm sorry to say this may be my last. If you don't need to connect devices on your network, this might be a decent solution, but I hope nothing happens even then, as NetGear support will force you to put all your stuff in the DMZ.
