Heats up Quick! - my new review

Pros:- Heats up very fast. Description claims 3 seconds, I think that is not far off. You can definitely feel heat in 3 seconds, but probably just a few more seconds to come up to temperature.- Lightweight. This makes the Tip-Over protection really important as it’s incredibly easy to knock this thing over. The protection worked good in my testing. Definitely the lightest heater I own.- Silent. There’s no forced air with this heater, it is a heating element with a directional metal heat deflector behind it.The cons are minor, and I will deduct one star for all the Cons combined.Cons:- I found the controls to be a little confusing. Read the directions. One of the knobs appears to be a thermostat, but there are no numbers. You’ll have to set it by trial-and-error with your comfort level. When the heater thinks the immediate vicinity is at the target temperature, it cycles the heating element off. The other knob is the heat intensity/strength along with oscillation or not. Both knobs have an off setting that appears to turn the heater off. (In other words, both knobs need to be in an active heating selection for it to operate.)- Noise. I know I said it was silent in the pros, and in my opinion it deserves that praise. However, my spouse noted the mechanical whirring noise made by the heater when oscillation mode is active. If you have the heater in a very quiet room with very little ambient noise, you can hear it. A desk fan or even a ceiling fan on low would be louder, so I think it would not bother most people. I’m only mentioning it here because my spouse did, and I think that might have something to do with the frequency of the sound that it makes.- Power cable gets warm. I am going to mention this here because the power cable appears to be the same gauge as one that would be used for a small lamp. All my other heaters use cables that are heavier/thicker. When this heater is in operation, especially at the higher heat setting (1500w), the cable gets pretty warm. In my testing it did not pose a problem, but you might need to be careful where the cable is positioned.

Pros
  • It requires minimal maintenance, making it ideal for busy households
Cons
  • The heater’s oscillation is too fast and causes dizziness
