If you want to know how using the product 5 days a week, every week for *six* years has affected the product see please look at the picture. I got one as a Christmas present six years ago and used it literally every day until I decided it was time to buy a second one. I love this thermos travel glass. Totally leak proof once closed - I tossed it in my bag and never once worried. Stays hot for hours when filled with hot liquid. Perfect for drinking on the road in your car to work - just make sure it's at drinking temperature before you head out as it will take some time to cool down. My only criticism is that the non-ferrous metal chips easily, so I recommend only buying regular sterling silver. The old one has dropped on concrete a few times - it's ok - the new one seems lighter and less likely to survive a fall. When I ordered this new one it arrived dented in the mail so I had to order a replacement (which arrived well). It's been 8 months with this new glass and it still has the same tightness and temperature resistance from the start. Also, after six years of daily use, I can recommend that you take the time to remove, wash and dry all the rubber parts. . When I got lazy, something hard black collected on the rubber rings that even bleach wouldn't wipe off. It's disgusting so buy this new one.
