It's worth it! for socks
I recently used this during a tournament on a COLD, snowy and rainy kayaking day. The pace fluctuated between 45-54 during the day. These socks did it! I wore another pair of work socks and only hiking boots underneath, keeping my feet dry. I had a raincoat for kayaking in cold weather. By the way, when you are in cold water, leaving your feet in the water for more than a few minutes will freeze your feet. They will keep you DRY and reduce the time your feet get cold.
