Easy setup but minimal range

Star Tech's wireless hotspot was easy to set up and does what it says on the tin, setting up guest hotspot very quickly. However, it is not useful for many other things. We have a long, narrow house and had internet connection problems throughout the house. We tried many solutions, routers, extenders, both wired and wireless. We currently have the best access we've ever had with the Amped Wireless High Power Touchscreen AC1750 Wi-Fi Router (TAP-R3) and the Amped Wireless TITAN-EX, High Power AC1900 Wi-Fi Range Extender (RE1900A). ), which gives us 100% coverage in most cases. (I suspect our signal strength varies somewhat) and there are times when the signal strength in my son's room isn't strong or consistent enough to allow him to do his homework. We hoped we could use it as an extension cord too. As it turns out, the signal isn't as strong as from a router or an Amped extender, and it's a wired connection, which limits distance for us as we don't want to run long cables around the house after receiving it Get rid of. If you want to set up a simple guest network access point, this can be done without much effort, but the range is somewhat determined by the length of the cable used. This is because it is connected to a modem and the signal is not very strong, at least not as strong as we get from any of the above devices (which can also be used to set up a guest network if we choose to do so) . . . ).

Pros
  • Well made
Cons
  • Pretty much everything is included
