So I bought this card for a non-Synology use case and as with the others, all components (10Gbe and m.2 slots) are recognized with no issues. The only thing I see as a problem is the cooling. Since it was designed for a specific Synology case, it has heatsinks designed for specific cooling. I don't think this happens on a normal motherboard and case without active cooling of the PCIe slots, and the temperature reaches the "can't touch that" level even when idle. I believe this burned one of my m.2 drives (although it was notorious for temperature issues itself), and that's why some people report drives failing after a certain period of use. I adjusted my settings to allow direct airflow to the card to solve this issue and hope this issue is resolved. Plus, it looks and feels like high-end hardware. Just remember you need airflow.
