I have a pair of hiking boots that use loops instead of eyelets for laces. To my surprise, did both pairs break the loop after using it twice? Instead of being disappointed and giving them to the first traveler I met at the local park, I decided to fix them. After some research I decided to go with the old but good method and use grommets. That meant I had to get a few details. A quick search turned up this handy little set. All that was missing was my efforts and a hammer. Received the kit quickly and went to work in the evening. There were no instructions on how to hit the tool hard to attach the eyelet to the rear washer. After making the holes with the included hole punch, I placed the washer on a round, flat, knobbly thing and pushed it out from the inside of my boot until the center nipple was visible, placing the appropriate tool around essentially the bottom of the to distribute outside part inside and under the inside pane. Since there were no instructions and I'm a pretty clumsy Neanderthal, I gave him a few good punches to spank him and voila. My shoes are repaired and the color matches too! Great kit for the money and I will be reviewing more of these kits for making larger hubs.
