I was pleasantly surprised by these lamps. Everything about them is well done: packaging, engineering, finishing, etc. The glass pieces literally weigh 5.5 pounds each and look beautiful. Small details illustrate well thought-out design. For example, there are plastic inserts at the end of each section of hanger tube to protect internal wiring from chafing. The pipe sections are solid and deep-threaded for secure attachment. A hanging rod at the top allows for precise height adjustment of the light and uses three locking nuts to secure the light, which hangs from a strong swivel joint. Even the packaging is impressive. The lights are encased in large styrofoam blocks in which each piece is individually wrapped and padded. Since we already had the ceiling boxes installed it was very easy to install these lights ourselves and replace lights that cost a lot more and now look cheap and flimsy in comparison. A few tips that might make it easier for others: 1) Instead of following the instructions and assembling the glass last, we completely assembled the lamp including the glass and then hung it. We found it easier to screw the body of the light onto a piece of glass first than trying to install it after the light was lifted because we were trying to use a glass prism weighing 5.5 pounds fine thread in a receiver hanging from a movable ball joint. it was'nt easy. 2) Another reviewer noted that it was difficult to thread the wires through the suspension tubes due to the small holes in the ends of the grub screws. What they didn't seem to know is that the ends of the grub screws are detachable, making it easy to thread wires through pipes. This is something that isn't mentioned in the instructions but should be. 3) They need to be hung higher than most pendant lights because the sloping underside of the glass prism reflects the light from the lamp straight onto your face when viewed at eye level. Although they ended up being larger than our old lights, it worked well because they put out a lot of light, mostly straight down, and they're beyond my head as to what can be good for a £5.5 piece. hanging glass. Conclusion: nice light temperature, very nice at night (prism effect on the ceiling) and also looks good in daylight when it's not on. Worth the money, the seller is very responsive and helpful.
