This is 100% a 5 star case. The surrounding border goes above the rounded edge without limiting access to keyboard letters like P and backspace. The corner rubber is high enough to take the impact but not cumbersome. I'm not sure how well the exoskeleton rubber bracing helps with impact but in theory it would help. The only complaint would be, it looks like theres a few manufacturing seals/lines on the inside of the case, almost unnoticeable, and it attracts finger prints as well as the phone. But, it's a fantastic case and would buy again
