I wasn't expecting it to be a speed daemon, it says USB2 right on the box so I knew I wouldn't get the 150+MB would /s level speed I get with some of my flash drives. But even for USB2 it's too slow. By plugging a standard Sandisk drive into my USB2 port, I can hit over 40MB/s without breaking a sweat. This? Even on a USB3 port, I squeeze out just over 18MB/s reading, and it's even worse writing. That's less than half of what USB2 can pull. For the money this is a decent platform to transfer large files to someone or maybe play media on a USB TV or something. But for a regular daily data transfer, that can feel painfully slow. As you can see in the attached screenshot, the last two write tests have expired and haven't even been completed.
