I just got a 3D printing machine and needed a small USB stick to put the files I want to print into to transfer them from my computer to a printing machine transferred to. I wasn't expecting it to be a speed daemon, it says USB2 right on the box so I knew I wouldn't get the 150+MB would /s level speed I get with some of my flash drives. But even for USB2 it's too slow. By plugging a standard Sandisk drive into my USB2 port, I can hit over 40MB/s without breaking a sweat. This? Even on a USB3 port, I squeeze out just over 18MB/s reading, and it's even worse writing.
