Review on πŸ”§ Enhance Your Arduino Projects with Qunqi 2Packs Stepper Controller by Jeremy May

The driver module works, but the chip gets very hot.

I used this for a stepper motor project with Arduino. It works fine, but the driver chip gets very hot with long-term use. The stepper motor I'm using (bipolar) is rated at 0.8A with a 6.8 ohm winding. I am running the driver with a 24VDC power supply. A handy feature of this driver is the onboard 5V DC output, which I use to power the Arduino. hot. From what I've read it looks like a PWM driver would be the best choice. But at least I have a backup in case the driver module fails. It's also a very reasonable price, so I'm not complaining at all.

Pros
  • large-capacity filter capacitor, residual current protection diode, more stable and reliable.
Cons
  • Unbelievable price
